Commentary from the past! Here follows the original commentary for this strip:

Here’s my big, semi-animated Wednesday comic. I’m not doing this every Wednesday, so don’t get your hopes up.
If you were wondering, this is not really a homophobic strip centered around toys watching porn. It just started out as a strip with Doug on his couch watching TV. Then it made the obvious segue into porn. What could I do? And I don’t see it as insulting gays, but rather baiting homophobes, belittling their fears.
I blame Jan.
Also, this strip forced me to learn to create animated gif’s. WooHoo! I debated long and hard as to whether to put the gif on the main page or to put a link to it. In the end, I think the gif would attract the eye too quickly to that visual punchline. Mouseover would have worked, too, but I don’t know how to do that yet.
Also, there was some confusion about the sounds of the TV as seen in the upper left corner in the strips so far. I have added a translucent TV to show where the sound is coming from. Does it work?

Director’s commentary:
Well, I don’t like the new TV effect, in that it doesn’t improve readability enough. And I ran into another problem with the animated gif in that this new wordpress theme won’t let me (read that as “I can’t figure out how to”) embed a link in the middle of a comic. Thus the link above.
For various reasons, this comic is going out later in the day than I intended. Something to work out before full launch. I also intended to have an entirely new comic today, but the ideas I came up with were more complicated than I expected and I won’t have that until tomorrow (fingers crossed that I can find the couch you see them sitting on above).

I know we all love dollhouses (or as I call them, “sets”), but here’s a museum quality recreation of Bag End from Lord of the Rings in miniature. Everything else is going to look pretty cheesy.
